Lady Jaye

Mary McDonald-Lewis is best known to many folks growing up in the 80’s as “Lady Jaye” on the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero animated series. She was also the star and co-star of many other shows, including as “Lois Lane” on Superfriends, “Princess Goleeta” on Galtar and the Golden Lance, “Maven” on Batman, and “Myke” on BraveStarr’s Sherlock Holmes in the 23rd Century, and many more.

But MaryMac didn’t stop there. After re-locating to Portland, Oregon to raise her daughter, she became “Mary,” the voice of OnStar, heard in millions of cars. She continued to work on commercials, in promotions, and all other areas of voice acting. On TV, the internet, on airlines and in taxicabs, hear her as the voice of Lunesta, urging you to “follow the wings”!

MaryMac works in the entertainment industry in other exciting ways, too. She is a dialect coach for film, television and stage, best known for teaching Rob Pattinson his American accent for Twilight. She was the series’ coach for TNT’s Leverage, and currently works steadily on NBC’s Grimm. Being Human,Falling Skies, Once Upon a Time and Hallmark Hall of Fame projects are all favorites she’s coached. MaryMac loves dialect coaching, and plans to work more and more in features. Her dream is to coach the film The Sisters Brothers, a property optioned by John C. Reilly, so if you know John, hook her up!

As a theatre director and stage actor, MaryMac’s work can be seen all over the Pacific Northwest, and she is co-artistic director of Readers Theatre Repertory, founded in 2001. Mary McDonald-Lewis holds her MFA in Theatre Arts from the University of Portland.

MaryMac adores her work as an “itinerant communicator,” whether behind a microphone as a cartoon character or on set as a coach. She believes in speaking up, speaking out, having fun, and knows she is very lucky and certainly blessed to make a living doing what she loves.
